- Prayer is How We Communicate with God – ” … if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” -2 Chronicles 7:14
- Prayer Allows us to Participate in God’s Works – It is not that God can’t work without our prayers, but that He has established prayer as part of His plan for accomplishing His will in this world.
- Prayer Gives us Power Over Evil – “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” – Matthew 26:41
- Prayer is Always Available – Nothing can keep us from approaching God in prayer except our own choices (Psalm 139:7; Romans 8:38-39).
- Prayer Keeps us Humble Before God – “Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” -Matthew 18:4
